Eastenders
is the BBC's main soap that has been running since 1985. A series of
12 books was published by Grafton Books from 1985 to 1988. There was
also a set of 4 books in a "Teen" series started by Dragon
Grafton Books (for 2 books) and continued by Armada Books. In 1995,
at the tenth anniversary, Penguin Books in conjunction with BBC Books
published "A Celebration" which summarised the soap storylines
so far. Two "Secret Diaries" books were published in 1998
and 1999 based on two of the popular characters at the time (Tiffany
and Bianca) and a further novel based on the Mitchells (Blood Ties)
was published in 1998.
