The
Tripods was originally a trilogy of books written by John Christopher
in 1967 and 1968. In 1984 the BBC made it into a TV Sci Fi series. Only
two series were made (based on the first two books) and then it was cancelled.
The three books were republished by Puffin Books with the TV series covers
as well as the entire trilogy. It has recently come to my attention that
John Cristopher wrote a prequel book called "When the Tripods Came"
in 1988, four years after the TV series. The series of books have been
republished many times, and the gallery below has been updated to reflect
a few of them.
