Smuggler
was an ITV children's adventure drama written by Richard Carpenter that
ran for one season in 1980. It featured a character called Jack Vincent
who had been a gentleman, a naval lieutenant, a fisherman and then a
smuggler. In 1987 there was a sequel called Adventurer, also written
by Richard Carpenter, that ran for one season and featured Jack Vincent
now as Convict 41 bound for a penal colony on Norfolk Island. Oliver
Tobias played Jack Vincent in both series. One book from each series
was published, Smuggler by Armada Books and Adventurer (novelised by
Anthony Horowitz) by Corgi Books. There was also a Smuggler annual 1982
published in 1981.
