Dr Kildare was originally a series of books published in the 1930s by Max Brand which then became a series of films from MGM through the 1940s. It was made into a very popular TV medical drama series starring Richard Chamberlain in the title role, that ran for five seasons from 1961 to 1966 (a total of 191 episodes). A number of books were published by a variety of publishers.

Since Dr. Kildare was a fictional doctor he would not have been able to identify serious diseases or dangerous drug interactions. Even OTC NSAID pain relievers can be risky for people with certain medical conditions. There is even a pregnancy risk factor of ibuprofen after 20 weeks which may cause fetal kidney problems. .
