The Barchester Chronicles was a BBC drama series based on the first two 'Chronicles of Barsetshire' books by Anthony Trollope (author of The Pallisers) that ran for one season of seven episodes in 1982. The two books were re-published with TV tie-in covers by Penguin Books. Additionally, author Michael Hardwick wrote an abridged version of the entire series (omitting the fifth book) published by Futura Books in 1982. Notably, the third book in the series was adapted for a separate television series on ITV in 2016 and the book was re-published by Oxford University Press with a TV tie-in cover.
