The
Barbara Vine Mysteries was a BBC television mystery drama series that
ran for three seasons from 1992 to 1994. The series was the BBC's answer
to ITV's The Ruth Rendell Mysteries
as Barbara Vine is a pseudonym for Ruth Rendell. Each season was based
on a book with season one comprising of three episodes titled 'A Fatal
Inversion', season two also three episodes titled 'Gallowglass' and
season three two episodes titled 'A Dark-Adapted Eye'. All three novels
were re-published with TV tie-in covers by Penguin Books.
