Footrot Flats by Murray Ball was probably the most popular comic strip ever in Australia and New Zealand. The main series was issued as longer landscape books and so popular was the series that several reprints have been issued. Most copies have sold over 4 million. Sadly, the main series ended at Book 27. There was also a smaller "Pocket Book" series, a larger "Weekender" series and some odd specials, including some hardback compendiums of the original books. A full length cartoon movie was made and a book issued of the film. In addition, the original series was issued again as a miniature version of the landscape books, abridged (ie with less strips) entitled the 'Footrot Flats Puppydog Series'. These appear to have stopped at the reproduction of selected strips from Book 21 and had identical covers to the main books (therefore not included in this gallery). The first six original Footrot Flats Books were also re-released in the UK by Titan Books.

Update : In 2005 a new collection of strips was published by Hodder Moa Books titled "Footrot Flats Sports Collection".
